At least six militants were killed when their cross border attack on security forces Karkay check post was repulsed on Friday.
Official sources said that dozens of armed militants after crossing the border attacked security forces Karkay check post in Dir but the attack was repulsed by the security forces.
Security forces claimed killing of six militants in retaliatory fire while the remaining militants made their safe escape.
It’s worth mentioning here that with the advent of summer militants from across the border initiated their attacks on security forces and it was reported that militants loyal to Commander Fazlullah, the fugitive commander of Swat Taliban, were attacking security forces.
Few days ago, militants from across the border stormed security forces check post in Upper Dir area and slaughtered around 17 security forces personnel while the government of Pakistan lodged strong protest with the Afghan government over the cross border attacks and also demanded of Afghan government to stop infiltration and attacks.
