Surjeet Singh released after 27 years

Indian prisoner in Pakistan, Sarjeet Singh was released after 27 years from Kot Lakhpat Jail.
He was handed over to Indian authorities at the border.
In his brief talk after release‚ Surjeet Singh said that he had pleasant time while in Pakistan but he kept on missing his home and family.
Surjeet said that he would go to Golden Temple as soon as he will reach India to express his gratitude.
He added that he liked Pakistan but if ever tried coming back then the agencies would consider him a spy, he also lauded the efforts of former federal interior minister Rehman Malik for making his freedom possible.
Surjeet Singh‚ son of Sucha Singh‚ was originally given death sentence that was commuted in 1989 by then president Ghulam Ishaq Khan on the advice of then premier Benazir Bhutto.
