Peace lashkar chief, bodyguards gunned down

Chief of a 1,500 member peace lashkar force and former nazim of Union Council Bazed Khel Peshawar, Faheem-Ur-Rehman was assassinated along with his bodyguards. Their bullet-ridden bodies were found dumped in the outskirts of Peshawar on Wednesday morning. According to SHO Pahari Pura Police Station, Bashir Dad Khan, he was informed about four dead bodies inside a white SUV at Dalazak Road Chowk. Khan said after receiving clearance by bomb disposal experts, police personnel recovered the dead bodies from the vehicle. A police officer remarked that two police officials accompanying Rehman were missing. All four persons had been shot dead whereas Rehman was tortured before assassination. Taliban spokesman Ihsan Ullah Ihsan said they had killed Rehman and his aides. “We killed Faheem-ud-Din and his colleagues. They raised a militia against us and wanted to defeat us,” said the spokesman.
