Authorities in Haripur on Wednesday recovered three bodies from various areas of the district, which are being said to be those of the missing persons whose cases were pending with the Peshawar High Court.
The deceased were aged between 30 and 35 years of age and were identified as Riaz from Takht Bai, Hassan Dad from Swabi and Abdul Hannan from Dir.
According to the post-mortem report, their necks had been broken and they were administered poison.
Police registered a case against unidentified persons in the Haripur City police station and a three-member investigation committee headed by the SSP investigation would be probing into the matter.
DSP Abdul Aziz said the bodies were recovered from Camp No 12, Kot Najeebullah and Kot Moman areas of Haripur.
The PHC has been hearing the cases of several missing persons filed by over 100 families in search of their missing relatives, allegedly being detained by spy agencies illegally. In its various orders, the PHC had directed the interior and defence ministries and spy agencies to inform the court about the status of the missing persons by June 26.
The court had also issued notices to the ISI director general and Peshawar capital city police officer to notify the missing person and explain their detention on June 26.
The PHC chief justice had also asked Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani to initiate inquiries against officers and soldiers involved in forced disappearances and launch court martial proceedings against those found guilty of picking innocent civilians.
