RCB launches drive against Shisha cafes

Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has launched a special drive on Tuesday against Shisha smoking centers.
Under the drive started on the special instructions of Station Commander Rawalpind Brig Nasurralh Khan Nazi and Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Rana Manzoor special team constituted in this connection conducted raids on Monday in Saddar and other markets. Warnings were issued that if the Shisha cafes would not stop their illegal business within 24 hours then strict action would be taken and the cafes would be sealed.
According to health experts the Shisha smokers inhale up to 150 times more tobacco in a single session than a cigarette.
Shisha causes lungs diseases, cancer and the flavoured smoking is many times more harmful to health than a simple cigarette smoking, they added.
Additional CEO RCB told APP that after complaints of the public a special drive has been launched in this connection.
This deadly smoking had become a fashion symbol in the society but the smokers did not know that it was a delicious killer, which kills the person gradually.
If it continues to exist in our society, it will result into serious health problems of youngsters in the years to come, Dr Imran warned.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), consuming the smoke for an hour is equal to smoking 100 cigarettes.
