Heavy rain and thunderstorms ahead…

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Tuesday directed the concerned departments to take all precautionary, preventive and pro-active measures to cope with the eventuality of heavy rains and floods in view of the current thunders storms.
CM gave these directions while chairing a high level meeting regarding relief and disaster management.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that all departments and agencies were fully ready to meet the challenges in view of the past experiences. He stressed that all departments and everybody concerned should remain fully prepared. He also directed the commissioners and deputy commissioners of the province to hold frequent meetings for reviewing the latest situation of rains.
CM also stressed that people be fully informed of every situation I this regard. He said that all deputy commissioners were being released necessary funds for meeting the expenditures of relief measures particularly the shifting of people, provision of tents and supply of floods to affected people.
The CM Sindh further said that all provincial ministers, MNAs and MPAs would oversee and monitor the relief and disaster management works.
He appreciated the role and services rendered by the armed forces particularly the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Army, during the evacuation and relief measures. Shah also directed that dewatering pumping machines, fibre boats, tents, mosquito nets and food items’ availability be assured in each district. He also directed provincial secretaries of Health, Education, Livestock, Works & Services department etc to fully cooperate with all deputy commissioners during rains and Chief Secretary Sindh will issue directives in writing in this regard for follows-up and implementation.
