‘Faint edges more visible in our technology’

The Indian cricket board may have been opposing the use of DRS in the Tests and ODIs’, however, according to BBG sports, the Australian company which supply HotSpot cameras, which are the important components for the DRS, they have the best equipments to tackle the issue. Speaking exclusively from Melbourne on Tuesday, the day after BCCI made their stand clear on the subject, the BBG Sports official, Anthony Kearney said, “We have found that our new cameras have improved and the faint hotspots are now more visible.” “Firstly, I am not sure why the Indian cricket board opposes DRS, apart from the fact they are not confident with the system. Secondly I have not seen a copy of the findings by the UK engineer as our equipment was not involved in these testings.” The ICC hired the services of Dr Edward Rosten, who works in the field of computer vision in the machine intelligence lab in the engineering department of the University of Cambridge. Dr. Rosten has researched in 3B Microscopy, FAST corner detection, Object detection, 3D Tracking and also Radial distortion calibration.
