The Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Division and Capital Administration and Development Monday sought report on alleged fake allotment of 40 plots in sector F-11.
The committee met with Senator Kalsoom Parveen in the chair and was attended by Senators Kamil Ali Agha, Muhammad Yousaf and Saeeda Iqbal.
The committee expressed dissatisfaction over the affairs of CDA, particularly the alleged allotment of plots. Members of the committee termed the briefing insufficient and said that the matter is of great importance and requires detailed deliberations to put things on the right track.
The committee sought recommendations over the issue within 15 days. It was also briefed about the appointment of a large number of staffers serving on deputation in the CDA.
The committee was told that there are 40 officers working on deputation in BS-16-19 and those who have completed three-year deputation period would be repatriated to their parent department.
The committee advised CDA to work according to the rules and regulation and avoid unnecessary appointments. The Senate committee also said that the quota of recruitments from Balochistan province may be filled as fixed in the constitution.
TP educating citizens to
ensure road safety: Education Wing of City Traffic Police, on the special instructions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Superintendent Police Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Shah, is educating the citizens about traffic rules to ensure safety for all road users.
According to details, Education Wing of CTP under its campaign launched to educate the citizens is regularly visiting several bus and wagon stands of the city, schools and colleges. Lectures are delivered with distribution of pamphlets aimed at creating awareness about road safety and traffic rules, the CTO said. Syed Ishtiaq Hussain said the drive has been launched to ensure safe driving on the city roads. He said traffic rules must be observed on roads as these were for safety of the drivers and other road users as well.
The CTO said that special campaigns were launched in the past by the traffic police to educate road users especially motorists about observance of traffic rules which were for their own safety. He asked the road users and drivers to follow traffic rules to make the journey on roads more safe and secure. Efforts are being made to persuade the road users in the traffic management and an awareness campaign is also being run for observance of traffic rules, he said stressing strict observance of traffic rules as only through this way, safe and secure journey on the roads could be ensured.
