Youth affairs dept organises summer programme

A summer learning camp is being organised at the Institute for Advancing Careers and Talents, here at Malir. A statement on Thursday said it was being organized under the youth empowering spaces (YES) under the leadership of Faisal Ali Subzwari, Minister for Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh. It said that the Youth Empowering Spaces (YES) is a partnership project of Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, and is being implemented by Habib University Foundation. It aims to facilitate the youth to explore and nurture self, raise awareness, acquire needed information and guidance, build relationships and create the capacity to help them fulfill their aspirations for a healthy and productive life. The YES2Learn Summer Learning Camp recently inaugurated and attended by 300 young fellows. A special theatre performance by NAPA artists was the highlight of the event. The launching of the camp is being followed by various fun learning activities like workshops and seminars, sports coaching sessions, and other recreational activities etc. The aim behind this learning camp is to provide maximum, free of cost, fun learning activities to the youth of Karachi during their summer vacations. Around 450 individuals got themselves registered and have so far benefited from the activities. One of the remarkable learning sessions of YES2Learn was organized on June 16 titled U-TECH, an IT based seminar, at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University from which more than 200 youth benefited. Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddique, Secretary – Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh was the chief guest of the event. Some of the upcoming activities of this learning camp include workshops on presentation skills, movie editing techniques, learning Photoshop, sports coaching on Hockey and basic Yoga for females, brain games coaching on Chess etc.
