India will soon deploy its anti-missile defence shield in the national capital and in Mumbai in the first phase, defense sources said on Sunday.
“The shield will be able to intercept and destroy mid-air any incoming enemy missiles up to a range of 2,000 km. The Indian capital and Mumbai will get the shield in the first phase as the Defense Research and Development Organistion chose the two cities considering their vulnerability to outside missile attack,” they said. India’s Cabinet Committee on Security will soon give its final approval before the shield is deployed in the two cities, the sources said. The second phase will see other cities like eastern India’s Kolkata and southern India’s Bangalore and Chennai get the shield, the sources added. India had tested its anti-missile defense shield earlier and plans to increase its range up to 5,000 km by 2016. The system was first test-fired in November 2006, making India one of the few countries to have successfully developed an anti-ballistic missile system after the US, Russia and Israel.

  1. We will penetrate that shield like a pointed needle…we are going to Rock India…

    • Warmongering Indians and Pakistanis should come to their senses war will be total destruction for both of them. India should show more flexibility they have significantly more to lose than Pakistan which is already almost bank corrupt and is facing one major crisis after another. Being a bigger economic and military power India has also much more to gain if there is a lasting settlement on core issues.

      • Now, that is some logic ! So, countries like US and China who are economic and military powers should actually be grovelling in front of countries who have 'nothing to lose'? Wow!

  2. Yeah, how about you deal with drones and Amreeka on the western border first…lol
