Police shot dead the alleged killer of an 11-year old girl in an encounter in the Kahna area on Sunday, private TV channels reported.
According to details, Maefia, 11, was kidnapped three days ago from Paras Ram Road in Kahna area of Lahore, after which her father filed a case against a neighbour named Babar. The kidnapped girl’s burnt dead body was recovered from a sewer on Saturday.
The police conducted a raid to arrest Babar but he allegedly shot at them. In retaliation, Babar was shot dead on the spot while his accomplice managed to escape. Local residents were very upset and angry over the girl’s kidnapping and murder. However, their anger calmed to some extent after killing of the accused in the alleged police encounter, media reports said.
