Something might happen before March: Imran

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has once again dismissed any possibility of a patch up with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Talking to reporters on Saturday, Imran held the opposition party responsible for the crises facing the country, saying the party had once been part of the federal government. Imran said that President Asif Ali Zardari had inducted Raja Pervez Ashraf as prime minister only to protect his corruption. He said that transparent elections were not possible with Zardari sitting in the Presidency. When asked whether he saw election in March, Imran said a lot of things could happen before March.
However, he did not provide any specific details about his claim. The PTI chief only hinted that something might happen in connection with the memogate issue. He said that Husain Haqqani had sought US support against Pakistan’s army and nuclear weapons on the behalf of Zardari. He said the allegations against the ex-envoy had been proved true through a probe by a judicial commission. The PTI chief condemned an incident of shooting on a rally of Awami Tehrik in Karachi, adding that political parties were responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in Lyari.
