Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that he was not expecting anything good in terms of a power crisis solution from the newly elected Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. Talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly, Shahbaz Sharif blamed the PPP-led government for pushing Punjab into the valley of darkness, adding that the government had taken revenge from the province pertaining to the power crisis.
He stated that the newly elected Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf could not resolve the energy crisis in the country as he had failed to resolve the same issue when he was the Water and Power minister in 2010.
“Despite the assurance of the full cooperation of Punjab, including the announcement of two holidays a week, the Centre did nothing to solve the problem of load shedding in Punjab,” he added.
He said in Punjab the electricity was available for four to five hours in 24 hours, adding that the PPP-led government was taking revenge from the entire province, including the labourers and businessmen under the pretext of load shedding.
