Punjab Assembly opposition leader Raja Riaz said on Saturday that the new prime minister will address all public issues, especially the energy crisis. He stated that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was a seasoned politician and fully aware of the problems being faced by the country. Riaz added that Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was a right choice for the PM’s post at the right time. He also lauded the contribution of former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani in defending the constitution and the democratic process. “His role in upholding the supremacy of the parliament will always be remembered,” he added. In response to a question, he said President Zardari had foiled all conspiracies hatched to create political uncertainty. He urged Nawaz Sharif to stop his efforts to derail the democratic system and to come up with positive suggestions to strengthen the democracy and improve the economy.
