The government also granted compensation amounting to Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 each from federal and provincial governments to the heads of the victims family, he added. Responding to a question, the chief minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari has taken personal interest in rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the rains/floods affected people of Mirpurkhas Division.

Nothing has been done. Pakistan has not learnt lessons from last devastating floods. Thousands of flood affected poor people took refuge in outskirts of Karachi and they were sent back without any obvious relief compensation.
Just wait and what is going to happen when floods arrive from Punjab.
Karachi city itself is not well equipped to face monsoon rains. Previous Nazim of the city has been boasting about underpasses and flyovers and rainstorm drains but it was obvious that when the monsoon hit underpasses became swimming pools, flyovers started crumbling and rainstorn drain system got choked, the electricity distribution got disruputed.
