The city lawyers Saturday went on strike against the election of Raja Pervez Ashraf as new prime minister of Pakistan, boycotting the courts, which caused troubles to the litigants.
On a call from Rawalpindi High Court Bar and District Bar Associations, the courts were boycotted. No lawyer appeared in any court, saying, the clash is being sought by raising a man involved in massive corruption scandal of rental power plants to the premiership.
Meantime, the litigants turning up to the courts said they were quite fed up with every day’s strikes in courts, adding they had nothing to do with the election of prime minister.
