ICT, Rawalpindi Police at loggerheads over Malik Riaz

The Islamabad Police has booked officials of Rawalpindi Police and Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), who conducted a raid at the residence of property tycoon Malik Riaz to arrest him in connection with the land fraud case, Pakistan Today learnt on Saturday. The raiding team was booked on charges of obstructing ICT police officials while performing their duties outside Malik Raiz’s house.
A source told Pakistan Today that a team of Rawalpindi Police and ACE, on Saturday raided the house of Malik Riaz to arrest him in the case registered against him, his son and five others in 2009. The sources said during the raid, the property tycoon was not present at home. A large number of officials of the ICT Police have been performing duties at Malik Raiz’s house since the last many days. On Saturday, when police officials tried to enter the house, the officials of ICT police deployed there resisted and even tried to arrest the raiding team. Later, according to the sources, Abpara Police registered an FIR under Section 186/353 against the raiding team.

  1. Bravo. SC can send a PM home but can't order arrest of the tycoon. The order will simply not be accepted and judges might be arrested by ICT Police.
