MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has said the public meeting of the Pashtun people being held today at Jinnah Ground Azizabad will prove to be a landmark for the people of country, particularly for the Pashtun people. The public meeting will give a message of brotherhood and love to all the nationalities including the Pashtuns, he said. Hussain commended the workers and office-bearers of provincial organizing committee working actively for making the public meeting successful. He prayed for the workers that Allah may increase their attachment with the organization and give them knowledge and foresight. He appealed to the Pashtun people to participate in the public meeting in large number and make it a roaring success. Earlier on Thursday the MQM announced holding a rally of Pakhtun people in the city on Sunday (today). MQM’s coordination committee leader Gulfaraz Khatak while addressing a news conference at party headquarters, Nine Zero, said the mass meeting would be held on Sunday at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad in Karachi. He urged Pakhtun people to support MQM chief for a ‘positive’ political change in this country claiming the party represents middleclass. “Only Quaid-e-Tehrik Altaf Hussain can bring a real change. The rally will prove that Pashtuns and people of all languages stand shoulder to shoulder with MQM,” he affirmed.
Here we go again.
Pakistan Today apparently loves this portrait of self styled statesman and the 'most popular leader of Pakistan' with about 20 seats in the parliament of more than 300 seats and yet gets more concessions from supine government of Asif Zardari and the most prominent coverage of so called independent media of the country.
By now the cameras of 'most popular Geo channels and scores of the others not so popoular TV channels' cameras would be in place to cover the speech of this dyslexic megalomaniac bull who is holding the capital city of Karachi hostage. He is reportedly addressing pashtuns at the same time real representatives of pashtuns, ANP, are holding a meeting.
MQM supremo may say whatever he wants to say to project himself as leader of mohajirs, sindhis, pasthuns and punjabis but in real sense he is a spokesman of a section of mohajirs. Karachi is inhabited by heterogenous nationalities. Don't forget that there are sindhis, punjabis, pathans, balochis, parsis, gujratis and bengalis.
Shame on the Pakistani media who can not gather courage to tell this actor the enough is enough and they are not going to give live coverage to his meetings and importantly could play a vital role to expose his other side of face.
