Substandard poultry meat being sold in Rawalpindi

Dead chicken is selling all over the city, but the health department and the district administration officials have taken no action against the culprits. It has been revealed that such meat whose is not only being used in homes but also is supplied to hotels.
According to sources, such white meat is being sold in large quantities in Raja Bazaar, Kashmiri Bazaar, Bazaar Talwaran, Jamia Masjid Road, Sabzi Mandi, Dhoke Ratta, Ratta Amral, Bakra Mandi, People’s Colony and several other areas of Rawalpindi.
This meat is obtained from the chickens which are infected by certain diseases and which die just after reaching the shops, before being slaughtered. Nevertheless, common people unknowingly buy it.
The citizens have demanded of the Rawalpindi DCO to take stern action against the dealers of dead chicken.

Waris Khan police held Bashir and recovered 115 grams of charas from him while Taxila police arrested Mohsin and recovered 120 grams of charas from his possession.
Saddar Wah police held Khalid and recovered 50 bottles of liquor from him.
Bani police recovered two 30-bore pistols from Zardar Khan, Morgah police nabbed Jameel and recovered one 30-bore pistol along with three rounds from him. Wah Cantt police arrested Naveed and recovered one 30-bore pistol from him. Mandra police arrested Israr and recovered one 30-bore pistol and three rounds from him. Saddar Wah police recovered one Kalashnikov along with 100 rounds froom Ashfaq. Waris Khan police recovered a dagger from Muhammad Naseer.
Cases have been registered against all the accused and have started investigation.
Reception for PAL chief tomorrow: A reception and mehfil-e-mushaira will be held in honour of Pakistan Academy of Letters Chairman Abdul Hameed at Jinnah Hall in Talagang on Sunday.
The reception to be presided over by renowned poetess and journalist Shahida Latif will be organised by a literary organisation, ‘Dhandara’.
A number of literary and social figures, including Naseem Sehar, Sabir Hussain Sabir, Haji Ghulam Mursaleen Aajiz and Malik Asad Ali, will participate in the event.
Dhandara Chairman Safdar Shahid Malik will deliver a key-note address while Chief Organiser Shafqat Malik will welcome the guests.
Eminent poets from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chakwal and Talagang will enthral the audience with their poetry.
