Bakhshi Brothers, an emerging group of young musicians hailing from traditional musical families, enthralled the audience of the twin cities in a live concert to celebrate the World Music Day.
Institute for Preservation of Art and Culture (IPAC), in collaboration with Kuch Khaas, arranged the show in which Bakhshi Brothers showed their gripping music features of traditional sufi folk and classical songs with the use of contemporary instruments in a refreshing style. The audience termed the show a brilliant blend of sufi philosophies and guitar chords.
The World Music Day first took place on June 21, 1976. Since then, it has been a festivity with the slogan ‘Faites de la Musique’ (Make music).
This year, the federal capital also joined the festivities. Music lovers and those associated with music as a profession celebrated the day across the globe to show respect for all forms of music.
Instrumentalists, singers, composers, ensembles, individual musicians, musicologists and others related to the field of music marked the day with concerts, community events and other programmes to highlight the value of music as part of life.
Fahmida, Kundi condole death of Malik Ibrar’s mother: National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza and Deputy Speakeer Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday expressed grief over the sad demise of the mother of Malik Ibrar MNA.
The speaker and the deputy speaker, in their separate messages to Malik Ibrar, prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage and strength to him and his family to bear the loss with fortitude.
