PPP will not allow trial of BB’s grave: Khosa

Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is still alive in the hearts and the history of the nation and that the PPP will not allow a trial of her grave at any cost.
Addressing the 59th birth anniversary of former prime minister and PPP’s former chairwoman Benazir Bhutto at the Governor’s House on Thursday, he said the PPP believes in democracy and that there was not a single political prisoner taken in the current PPP tenure.
He said the PPP always respected the judiciary and had accepted the judicial murder of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who was sentenced for initiating the nuclear programme and giving the Constitution of 1973 to the country.
Commenting on the disqualification of former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, he said the court should also keep in mind the previous decisions it took, like the Molvi Tameez-ud-Din case, the ZAB case and others which were not accepted whole heartedly by the people.
He urged the judiciary to announce its judgments on the Asghar Khan case, the Shahbaz Sharif disqualification case, the Arsalan Iftikhar case and others which were pending instead of only speeding up cases against the PPP leaders.
Khosa said every PPP worker had shown his determination and would not hesitate to sacrifice his blood for the country and democracy.
He said the PPP workers will counter every conspiracy against democracy, adding that the democratic process in the country will continue smoothly.
Hundreds of party workers and leaders, including Faiza Malik, Begum Musarat Latif Khosa, Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan, Raja Amir, Afnan Butt, Sami Ullah Khan cut BB’s birthday cake on the occasion.
