On the directions of District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, action was taken against hotels, marriage halls, sweetmarts and bakeries for selling sub-standard food items in the city.The officials inspected food samples of 166 hotels, marriage halls, sweetmarts, bakeries and other related shops during the last 24 hours and imposed a fine of Rs. 14,000 on selling of substandard and unhygienic food items. As many as 26 samples of food items were also sent to laboratory for further checking.
