Three women set on fire in Muzaffargarh

Three women received serious burn injuries when five people broke into their house and set them on fire in Bati Lang area here on Wednesday. Police said that five persons – said to be in-laws of one of the victims, Shabana Bibi – broke into her house located in Bati Lang area in the jurisdiction of Sangar Police Station, and set them on fire after sprinkling petrol on Shabana, her mother Sakina, and her sister Nagina. Upon hearing noise, neighbours rushed to rescue the victims and shifted them to a nearby hospital. Later the victims were moved to Nishtar Hospital Multan due to their critical condition. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident after it was aired on the electronic media and directed the police to arrest the culprits immediately. Shabana Bibi’s husband Ghulam Hussian was burnt to death some eight months ago and Shabana’s family was accused of the incident.
