The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday disposed of the suo motu case on Kohistan dancing video after a delegation of human rights activists submitted its report, confirming that the girls, who were reported to have been killed for dancing in marriage ceremony, were alive. The court thanked and applauded the delegation for its visit to Kohistan at a “difficult” time to meet the girls. The court said the issue had been sensationalised in and outside the country. The court remarked that it was incumbent upon the state to protect the lives and property of its people.
