Rangers arrest eight ‘gangsters’

The Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Wednesday conducted raid in Old City area of Karachi, arresting eight suspected gangsters. According to reports, the Rangers conducted a raid in Kharadar on a hideout and arrested eights suspects, recovering sophisticated weapons from their possession. The suspects belong to a banned outfit and one of them was identified as Irfan alias Yamaha.
A spokesman for the paramilitary force confirmed the report, adding that a hostage had also been recovered during the raid. Meanwhile, a high-level meeting regarding law and order situation was held at police head office here. DG Rangers, IG Sindh and high officials of police and Rangers attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed the law and order situation of the city and decided to strictly maintain peace.
All efforts will be made to protect the lives of poor, innocent and down-trodden people at every cost, the meeting said. It is to be mentioned here that averagely 8-10 people are being killed daily in the city.
