Nobody can prove charges of corruption against me: Shahab-ud-Din

Candidate of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its allies for the seat of premiership, Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din has denied all allegations of corruption leveled against him.
Talking to media men, on Thursday, after submitting his nomination papers for contesting the election for the post of the Prime Minister, he said he was wrongly accused in the Ephedrine Case.
He said charges were put on him because he was Minister for Health at the time the scandal originated.
When asked a question about his arrest warrants issued by the local court, he pronounced poetry of the great poet, Allama Iqbal, according to which a hawk should not be afraid of the power of a windstorm, as it also tends to support the hawk in its flight.
Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din thanked PPP and its allies for nominating him as the candidate for premiership.
He also congratulated the political workers of PPP on the birthday of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
During an informal chat with the media men before the meeting of PPP and its allies held for the preparation of nomination papers, he said he had ordered for a new ‘sherwaani’ for the oath taking ceremony owing to his possible election as the Prime Minister, adding he had only a single ‘sherwaani’ which he wore on the day of his marriage.
It is pertinent to mention that PPP has also nominated Raja Pervez Ashraf as their covering candidate.
