The Supreme Court Thursday granted one more week time to Malik Riaz in contempt of court case to arrange his defence counsel as most of lawyers have been avoiding him to show solidarity with the SC.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Shakirullah Jan heard the proceedings of the case.
Malik Riaz told the SC that he was not able to arrange his counsel as no lawyer is ready to represent him. He requested SC for granting him ten days to arrange a defence lawyer.
Justice Shakirullah Jan remarked, “It is your problem if you have not arranged lawyer, you have to respond over the issued show cause notice”.
Malik Riaz told SC that he has contacted 4 lawyers and they have demanded some time to think for defending the case. He stated it is a matter of grave concern that Raymond Davis can get a lawyer but not him.
He told the court that 2 resolutions were passed in Islamabad District Bar that directed all the lawyers for not defending Malik Riaz.
Justice Shakirullah Jan expressed annoyingly that Bars should not pass such type of resolutions that create hindrance in providing justice to masses because every citizen has the right to be able to defend himself through lawyer.
The petitioner of the case informed the court that no one is stopping Malik Riaz from obtaining a lawyer for his defence as he has a full legal team that is defending him in various cases that are being prosecuted in different courts.
Malik Riaz told the court that he assures the SC that he would arrange lawyer after 10 days.
Justice Shakirullah Jan said, in case Malik Riaz is unable to arrange a defence lawyer for himself then the state would provide him with one.
Justice Tariq Parvez remarked how the proceedings would continue if Malik Riaz could not arrange a defence lawyer.
The court stated that resolution was passed in India for not providing defence lawyer for Ajmal Kasab, but Indian Supreme Court had returned right to Ajmal Kasab for arranging lawyer. The court said Bars have to think several times before passing any resolution and see if that resolution could create any hindrance in way of justice.
The SC then granted 7 days more time to Malik Riaz for arranging defence lawyer and adjourned the hearing till 28th June.
Money Talks And Bullshit Walks is not always true, when time has run out and Lady Luck is no longer happy with you. Riaz Malik should have thought well before he went on this suicidal path.

Maintenant c'est au tour des juges de la Cour suprême qui lui font regarder de près et mon sentiment est qu'il peut être envoyé en prison comme une punition pour l'infraction pénale pour tenter de soudoyer le plus haut tribunal du pays. Il est une autre histoire que le fils du juge en chef du Pakistan est encore libre, malgré avoir prétendument millions de dollars de Malik Riaz.

I know its a bit foolish of me but I so want to believe this man has done no wrong.
Malik Riaz was such a good example of Pakistan businessmen becoming billionaire, this meant that we can succeed even in Pakistan if we try. How wrong I was… sadly wrong.
Malik Riaz represents scum of pakistan. He foolishly imagined he could black mail the SC of Pakistan. He is closely tied and have business dealings with Asif Zarddari, he calls Nawaz Sheriff's sons as their own.
His way of doing business is simple is to mingle with corrupt politians and share his profits with them for their support to his businesses. The public proof of this is in the Dunya news video tape leak, you can find it on youtube. He will try to buy anyone that is useful to his purposes.

We live in a messed up country, we fight for law and deny law at the same time. Ajmal kasab got a lawyer in India. But to deny Malik Riaz a lawyer by the bar's is against the law. This is just save the a corrupt son of a judge {the judges innocence is yet to be proved too) the money 340 million went to Rana Iftikhar Ch house and knowing that for the last six months he still doesnt know what the business of his is/was ? Shame on this Lie of a judiciary and shame on nawaz's bitch boy too.
Who is denying Malik Riaz a lawyer? If he was worth defending there would be a queue of lawyers wanting to fill their pockets.
Please do not deny the services of Malik Riaz for Pakistan and for the society. Now, the bars have denied him the right in support of the son of CJ.. Do you still expect justice?
