As many as 12 policemen including an SHO were suspended on Wednesday and asked to report to the Police Lines, following protests against the killing of four alleged dacoits in a police encounter on Super Highway.
Police said that four robbers had been killed in an encounter, while they were busy in robbing a truck on the Super Highway in Jamshoro. DIG Sanaullah Abbasi suspending the 12 policemen including the Jamshoro SHO, Saeed Ahmad Channa ordered them to report to the Police Lines. All the four alleged robbers who were killed in encounter belonged to the Shoro tribe of Kotri. The tribesmen declared the police encounter as fake had staged a strong protest against police. On the other hand, the autopsy report of the corpses of four alleged dacoits could not be issued even after three days of the incident.
