The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police have busted a gang of car snatchers in a raid on their hideout at Kirpa in the area of Koral police and recovered weapons as well as a car from their possession, a police spokesman said.
On a tip off, In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon constituted special team under his supervision and raided a hideout of car snatchers and arrested them red-handed when they were planning to commit another dacoity.
The nabbed persons were identified as Ismail, Nishat Kiani, residents of Harnot, Islamabad, Aslam of Peshawar, Adnan of Islamabad and Amaar Yaseen of Jung Saidan. The CIA police also recovered four pistols and a car during the raid. Further investigation is underway. During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to 10 car-snatching incidents in the area of Shehzad Town, Nilore and Secretariat.
487 bottles of liquor, weapons seized: Islamabad police have arrested seven outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 487 bottles of liquor, two 12-bore rifles and a 30-bore pistol from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. On a tip off, Assistant Sub-Inspector Tariq Rauf from Crime Investigation Agency of Islamabad police apprehended two bootleggers, Asif Munawar and Nadeem during patrolling and recovered 487 bottles of liquor from them.
