DC directs CDA, IESCO to solve traders’ problems

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed held an important meeting with the representatives of traders’ community and officials of the CDA and IESCO to resolve the problems of water supply and electricity in some markets.
The meeting was also attended by the ex-president of ICCI, Munawar Mughal, Traders’ Action Committee, president, Ajmal Baloch, Khalid Mahmood, Kashif Chaurdhry and Mian Farid.
The meeting was held in the backdrop of a protest call given by the traders. The representatives of traders told the participants that the business community and residents of sectors I-10, I-8 and G-8 are facing load shedding and acute water shortage. There is discrepancy in the distribution of water supply and electricity in some sectors as compared to the others, they added.
The deputy commissioner directed the officials to take immediately corrective steps and ensure equal distribution of water supply and load management. He directed the officials of CDA and IESCO to remove any discrepancy in distribution in this regard and solve the problems at once.
The officials of the CDA and IESCO assured the participants that all possible corrective measures would be taken to solve the problems of these sectors. The traders’ community said that they are voluntarily willing to cooperate with the officials if the electricity is provided at least 12 hours in 24 hours. Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad directed the officials of The CDA and IESCO will hold meetings with the assistant commissioners and traders to solve the problems.
PBM distributes 70,000 wheelchairs among special persons: Pakistan Bait ul Mal has so far distributed over 70,000 wheelchairs among special persons, Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal Managing Director Zamurrad Khan said.
Addressing a reception hosted in honour of visiting Indian Handicapped Cricket Team, he said China has gifted 40,000 wheelchairs.
Welcoming the Indian team the MD said, a number of projects have been initiated for the welfare of the handicapped persons. The special persons are also being provided white cane, artificial limbs.
Chairman Pakistan Handicapped Cricket Team Abbas Hashmi speaking on the occasion said games are the best source to promote cordial relations between the two countries. Indian players are our guests and they would be taken care of during the visit.
