She gets tagged as a loudmouth for her straightforward attitude, but Sonam Kapoor has learnt the rules of the ‘starry’ game, albeit the hard way. In a candid chat with a daily, Bollywood’s fashionista said that in B-Town honesty is frowned upon, though it makes one a media’s darling. Referring to how she was easily misquoted when she praised actress Katrina Kaif in one of her interviews, Sonam asserts that honesty gets misinterpreted as rudeness and gets lost in translation. Her intentions were to highlight Katrina’s industrious nature but it was highly misunderstood by the media and her statement was blown out of proportion. To save herself from the false gossip stories that carry her name, Sonam made it clear that now onwards she would follow in her father Anil Kapoor’s footsteps to the hilt while giving media bytes. “I have learnt in the last one year that it’s not good to be honest. Dad has always been very diplomatic and I should have learnt from him but I was naive and idealistic,” she added. For that matter, Sonam also idolises actress Vidya Balan, who is unfazed about the hoopla around her, since the latter takes everything at face value and then throws it out of the window. No matter what, we are certainly going to miss that ‘misquoted’ Sonam.
