Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz on Monday filed a plea in the Supreme Court, seeking orders for strict security during his appearance before the court on June 21. In his plea, Riaz alleged that he had been threatened by some lawyers during his previous appearance and that his “life was at stake”. He stated that he was being “vilified” and a media campaign was being run to provoke people against him. Riaz said that since he was a tax payer and a “respected man” in the real estate business, he was entitled to foolproof security. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court ordered additional contingents of police in and outside the court premises for Thursday’s hearing.
