Rain brings respite to city

Monday morning in Lahore came with a light shower of rain which turned the city’s weather pleasant.
Though the spell was brief yet it brought some relief to people from the scorching heat.
Clouds also hovered over the city in the afternoon following a dust storm. Families flocked to parks and other recreational places to enjoy the day.
The meteorological office recorded 40 degree centigrade and 37 degree centigrade as maximum and minimum temperature respectively.
Scattered dust storms, rain likely in north Punjab: The Met department forecast scattered dust storms and rain in north and central Punjab, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan and Kashmir.
During the next 24 hours, isolated thunderstorms and rains are expected in DG Khan, Multan Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Gilgit Baltistan.
According to the Met synoptic report on Monday, a seasonal low is lying over north Balochistan whereas Sunday’s trough of the westerly wave over northeast Afghanistan is lying over the northern parts of the country.
Meanwhile, another westerly wave is moving across the northwestern parts of Iran, but the weather outlook for the next 48 hours shows no major change.
