PUSD highlight previous year’s achievements

The Punjab University Sports Department on Monday highlighted the performance of the department’s athletes during the year and set new targets for the coming year.
Addressing a press conference here at the Punjab University Old Campus, Atiya Mumtaz, Additional Director Sports (male) and Shamsa Hashami, Additional Director Sports (female) gave the details of the year. Media coordinator Hooria Hassan was also present on the occasion. “The department has planned performance-based stipend and admission for the student athletes. “We are also developing and atmosphere in the department that the students take maximum part in sports,” said Shamsha.
She further stated that the department is also hiring the services of Chinese coaches to train their athletes and wushu players.
Speaking on the occasion, Atiya Mumtaz said that although the performance of the males athletes was not that good as compared to the female department but efforts are being made to further enhance their abilities in different sports.
“We are planning free admission for best performers, accommodation, fee concession and several other benefits for the players,” she maintained.
