Following the incident of train burning in Kamonki, Pakistan Railways has decided to suspend train services of at least 25 trains playing in Lahore division.
According to sources inside the Railways, temporarily ban has been imposed on several trains, traveling from Lahore to Rawalpindi including four Railroad cars, two Awam Express trains, Lasani, Allama Iqbal and Khyber Express.
The GM Operation, Junaid Qureshi said that this step has been taken to avoid protesters from damaging further more trains, adding that power outage was not in
the jurisdiction of the railways.
DS Railway Javed Anwar said that the train service would remain suspended until security is not provided for the smooth running of trains.
The railways authority held the local police and fire brigade responsible of Bawi train incident in Kamonki, adding that the police played the role of silent spectator amidst the plundering of protesters.
The Railways officials said that the train could not turn into ashes, if the fire brigade arrived in time.
