Quetta: Blast hits University bus, 5 killed, over 70 injured

A bomb tore into a bus heading to IT University in Quetta on Monday morning killing five students and injuring more than 70 people, police said.
The bus targeted Monday was heading to the Baluchistan University of Information Technology in an upmarket neighborhood of Quetta.
CCPO Mir Zubair Mahmood said five students on the bus were killed and scores were wounded, as were several passers-by.
Police said it was a car bomb that was detonated remotely.
The explosion took place when the bus of Balochistn IT University was travelling through Samangali road area of the city, CCPO Quetta, Mir Zubair said.
The bus was carrying 70 students at the time of blast.
Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital, CMH and Bolan Medical Complex where emergency was declared.
Doctor sources confirmed more than 70 injured including students were brought to the hospitals where ten of them were stated to be in critical condition. Some passers by and children were also among those injured.
According to bomb disposal squad 40 to 50 kilograms of explosives were used in the blast, adding that it was planted in a car at roadside and detonated through remote-control.

  1. These tragic killings by terrorists should be an eye opener for those who have supported them all along for one reason or another. These terrorists have only one objective before them and that is to rule Pakistan one day. Unfortunately, they have been quite successful in their strategy.
