In continuation of its efforts to contribute towards welfare of people of Balochistan, Pakistan Navy has established a three-day free medical camp at Jiwani for the aid of local populace. This medical camp would extend medical facilities to more than 7000 people suffering from various ailments.
To provide skilled medical treatment and advice to patients, Gynecologist, Surgical, Eye and Child specialist are positioned at the camp. The specialist will also conduct minor surgeries, along with provision of free medicines. A laboratory has also been set up for blood, ultrasound and x-ray tests.
The medical camp also aims at educating the locals on prevention from diseases, child healthcare and sanitation of living areas.
Deteriorating maternal health and nutritional deficiencies are other areas to be focused upon.
Jiwani has only one rural health centre and few private clinics for about 35000 inhabitants and this free medical camp established by PN proved to be a great help for the locals.
Pakistan Navy establishes free medical camps for the coastal region on biannual basis.
In the last medical camp at Gwadar, more than 3000 patients were treated of which 327 were children with helminthiasis, dysentery and malnutrition other common medical diseases registered were scabbies, poor skin hygiene with poor care of skin appendages, allergic disorders, catric ptreygium, anemia and carries with poor dental hygiene.
