Number of steps being taken to overcome energy crisis: Kaira

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the government is committed to overcome the energy crisis and a number of steps are being taken in this regard.
Talking to media here on Monday he said due to the recent developments and measure taken by the government the power load shedding situation will improve within next 24 hours.
He said the whole country is equally facing the power shortage problem but the Punjab government is sponsoring the protests in the province. He said the provincial government will be responsible for all the losses of the lives and material during the protests.
Paying tributes to Fauzia Wahab‚ Qamar Zaman Kaira said that due to her death the party has lost a sincere worker and dedicated leader. He said her services for the country and the party will be remembered for long time.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the government is also working to generate electricity through alternate energy sources.
In this connection‚ he said that different projects are underway to generate solar and wind energy.
He lamented that Punjab has a capacity to generate eight hundred megawatt electricity by installing turbines on water channels but the provincial government is not taking any step in this direction.
