Fauzia Wahab passes away

Pakistan People’s Party senior leader Fauzia Wahab passed away on Sunday after remaining unwell for over a month.
Fauzia, 56, had undergone a gall bladder surgery but suffered serious post-operative complications, which proved fatal for the veteran politician.
Her funeral prayers will be offered at Masjid Mubarak in Defence Phase-4, Sea View, in Karachi after Zohar on Monday.
The PPP has announced 10-day mourning on the tragic demise of its senior leader.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow on Fauzia’s demise.
In his condolence message, the president paid tribute to her services for the party saying she was a steadfast loyalist of the PPP who braved difficult situations.
“Her services to the PPP will be long remembered. She died while fighting to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions,” Zardari said.
The president also lauded her services as information secretary of the party.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif also expressed grief on Fauzia’s death and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
