Meanwhile, seven suspects riding motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire in Jamshed Quarters area of the city, killing a six-year-old boy and causing panic and fear in the area.
Police reached the spot and arrested two suspects involved in the incident and recovered illegal firearms from them after a brief chase. An additional force of 500 policemen is been called from interior Sindh under a well-planned strategy to combat the rising crime, especially extortion, targeted killings and kidnapping for ransom in Karachi. The additional force has been deployed at various places in the city, while measures were being taken to strengthen the number of police personnel deployed at posts and pickets, particularly in old city trade centers.
