Shahbaz Sharif assures support to youth

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the Pakistani youth have the ability to pull the country out of crisis and urged the students to strengthen the country.
Addressing a ceremony organised to award prizes among the winners of the fourth competition on essay writing, art and craft, sports and speeches, he said the provincial government will continue to support youngsters.
He expressed complete confidence in the talent and potential of the younger generation and said they will make the country an invincible and self reliant welfare state.
He said concrete measures had been taken for creating new job opportunities and for the elimination of poverty. He said a self-employment scheme had been started for the youth under which interest-free loans were being given to them.
The chief minister said a large amount of funds were being spent on improving the economic condition of the neglected segments of the society and for the welfare of the people.
The CM stated that transparency and merit are hallmarks of the Punjab government and due to ensuring transparency in the development projects, the confidence of the people in government institutions had increased.
He criticised the federal government for destroying Punjab’s economy with prolonged power outages.
Businesses and factories in the province are closing down due to the government’s inefficient policies, said the chief minister, adding that the people were struggling to have a single meal a day.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Rana Sanullah, Mujtaba Shujjahur Rehman and Zaeem Qadri also attended the ceremony.
