Five persons including a woman were shot dead in different firing incidents in Karachi including a political worker while bodies of other six persons including a woman were found at different places of the city on Sunday.
Two dead bodies were found from a farmhouse on Super Highway near Gulshan-e-Maymar.
A political worker, named Liaquat Bangash was found dead in mysterious circumstances on the stairs of his flat in Gulistan-e-Jauher’s Rabia City project. He was wanted by police in many cases.
Following the killing, unknown men opened firing in various parts of the city including Gulistan-e-Jauher and Patel Para.
Three men were gunned down by unknown armed man on Superhighway, near Nagori Stop in the limits of Gadap Police Station. The deceased were identified as Rashid, Iqbal and Mehmood, all in their early thirties. Their bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a middle age man died when unidentified armed men opened fire on him in Baldia Town. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Identity of the deceased could not be ascertained.
Moreover, bullet riddled bodies of two young men were found in Lyari area in the limits of Baghdadi Police station. They were identified as Asif and Ayub. Both are said to be MQM activists.
The body of 20-year-old Muhammad Tanvir was found in Alamgir road area in Shershah. Cause of his death could not be ascertained. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for postmortem.
Four-day old body of 35-year-old Robeena w/o Hussain was found in Malir, Khokhrapar area. The body was buried in lawn of a house. It was shifted to Jinnah postgraduate Medical Center.
Moreover, five people including 2 policemen were hurt in various firing incidents in Gulistan-e-Jauher. Three people were reported injured in Frontier Colony, Baldia Town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas of the city.
Tension prevailed in several parts of the city as violence continued without being controlled.
Darakhsan police confiscated two Kalashnikovs and grenade from four dacoits.
Meanwhile, a target killer jumped from a five-storey building as police conducted a targeted operation in Gulistan-e-Johar to arrest him.
Police wanted the deceased criminal in several cases.
