Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Mujahid Sherdil on Friday said that model villages had been constructed at 333.81 acre of land where 1885 houses had been established. While presiding over a meeting on provision of houses at 22 model villages to the flood affectees, he said further that handing over of model villages would be completed by the end of this year.
Mujahid Sherdil also said that all basic facilities were provided in these model villages including 471 bio-gas plants, 943 solar energy plants, 6 community centers, 26 parks, 18 livestock and veterinary dispensaries, 14 TAVTA centers, 18 dispensaries as well as 15 schools.
“Constructed with a cost of Rs 1.55 billion, these model villages are the vivid picture of good governance and strategy of Punjab government to rehabilitate flood affectees,” concluded the DG PDMA.
