Civil servants urged to demonstrate integrity‚ discipline and impartiality

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has urged the civil servants to demonstrate integrity discipline and impartiality to serve the cause of the people.
Addressing the award distribution ceremony at the civil servant academy here on Saturday‚ he said the civil servants need to foster courage to stand up to the political pressure and take steps to purge the menace of corruption from the civil service which has badly tainted its image.
Gilani said the present government has made a paradigm shift in the political landscape by introducing the politics of consensus.
The Prime Minister said that PPP-led government has succeeded in transforming the political divide in the country into a culture of harmony and accommodation.
He said “our mission to achieve consensus on all issues of national interest will continue despite various factors which are usual in a democratic dispensation.”
Gilani said the federation has been strengthened by the restoration of 1973 constitution back to its true form.
He said that the passage of 18th‚ 19th and 20th constitutional amendments have brought back the country to the parliamentary democracy.
He said that the provinces have been empowered in the real sense to greater provincial autonomy and with devolution of powers to them.
He said “today‚ all provinces enjoy unprecedented freedom in the decision making‚ administrative operations as well as the financial matters.”
He said that after months of negotiations‚ the 7th NFC Award was adopted which allocated chunks of the economic resources to the provinces.
He said that the government is taking effective steps to remove the sense of deprivation of Balochistan province.
He said that besides providing jobs to Baloch youths‚ the government is also working on a programme to provide vocational training to them.
He said that youths have a role o play in development of the country.
He said that the government is taking effective steps to remove the sense of deprivation of Balochistan province. Aaghaz Haqooq Balochistan is a sincere effort of the government in this connection to integrate Baloch people into the mainstream.

He said “the government is aware of the aspirations of the people of south Punjab and is committed to this cause. We are working on ways and means to materialize this demand into reality in accordance with the aspiration of the people of the area.”
On the economic front‚ Prime Minister said the government has achieved many milestones.
“The economic policies of the government have ensured economic stability. Our foreign exchange reserves are over 18 billion dollars and our exports increased to 25 billion dollars benchmark”, he said.
He said the government has presented tax free and growth oriented budget for the next fiscal year envisaging growth target of 4.3 percent. He said inflation will be reduced to 9.5 percent.
About energy crisis‚ he said the government has added 3400 megawatt into the national grid. We have initiated a number of short‚ medium and long term projects to overcome this problem on permanent basis.

  1. Look what this devil is saying. Does he let them do their job. Look what he does every day. He thinks civil servant are his personal servant and if they they dont listen to him they are punished. Actullay he does have even brain he does what Zardari tells. SHAME ON GILANI
