Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Farzana Raja said that 3 million non-going school children of beneficiary families will be provided free education under Waseela-e-Taleem Programme soon after the end of Summer Vacations in schools. In a meeting here with BISP officers from all regional offices, Farzana Raja announced that BISP is all set to launch Waseela-e-Taleem Programme for providing free education to these children. She appreciated the relentless efforts of BISP officers for turning this programme into a success story and also apprised them about the strategy for coming fiscal year. She said that during the period of more than three years after its inception, BISP has achieved various landmarks regarding the welfare of the poor segment of society as well as poverty alleviation from the country. “After achieving these targets successfully, BISP is now aiming to further improve its working strategy with the help of its experience and impact it has made through its efforts”, she added. Various other schemes launched by BISP including Waseela-e-Haq, Waseela-e- Rozgar, Waseela-e-Sehet and Waseela-e-Taleem were also discussed, besides the details of the monthly financial assistance and measures to improve the further working of BISP operations.
