A person who was severely injured in a fireworks explosion which took place in a residential building succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
Deceased Zuhaib Ali, 32, was involved in the business of manufacturing firework items as the police confiscated a large supply of raw material and packets of firecrackers from the house. The incident happened on the second floor of a building around 2:00 am on Thursday in Amani Shah Colony, Latifabad Unit 11.
The explosion was so powerful that it ripped apart the walls of the room also leaving a woman and a child injured with bruises and multiple fractures. Earlier deceased Zuhaib was initially shifted to Civil Hospital from where he was later referred to Karachi.
SHO Nazim Rao of A-Section police station said a case has been registered against Zuhaib under sections 285 and 286 for illegally possessing explosive materials. “We will investigate his family as the house was being used as a place for manufacturing the fireworks,” he told the APP.
