Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Thursday that the Punjab government was taking every possible measure to end the energy crisis with the partnership of the private sector.
He was presiding over a meeting held at his Camp Office at the Minar-e-Pakistan. Punjab Energy secretary and several provincial ministers also attended the meeting.
Shahbaz said the Punjab government was providing solar energy panels for domestic use on minimal charges while work on biogas and coal projects was underway.
The CM said the private sector will be encouraged to end the energy crisis.
In order to cope with energy problem, he said, the provincial government has evolved a comprehensive energy roadmap for meeting the domestic and agricultural needs through solar energy and biomass.
He said the solar energy and biomass projects initiated through the private sector will be encouraged in the next budget.
He directed the energy and planning and development departments to present him a comprehensive energy roadmap within the next ten days.
