PIA: Not so great people to fly with!

Seemingly immune to the complaints it faces on a daily basis over the delay in flights, the national carrier was once again subject to criticism over the same issue.
A PIA flight coming from Karachi to Lahore, (PK 306), landed at the Allama Iqbal International airport after a half hour delay on Wednesday after it was supposed to land at 8:45 am, leaving passengers to sweat it out in the intense heat.
The mismanagement of the PIA crew was further highlighted when it was discovered that a passenger ramp was not available to transport the passengers. The airport authorities failed to locate a ramp, stranding the passengers inside the airplane.
When the airport authorities finally managed to obtain a passenger staircase, the travellers’ were left on the burning tarmac as the airport had failed to arrange busses for them.
The airport officials ultimately located a bus and insisted on cramming a majority of the passengers in it.
The passengers, many of whom were travelling with children, complained of the airport authorities’ callousness and said the officials seemed to be unconcerned with the plight of the passengers.
“The children suffered the most because of the heat. It took us almost an hour to simply get off the plane,” said a passenger.
Another passenger said no Civil Aviation Authority personnel were present at hand to assist them, adding that given the mismanagement, it was no surprise the carrier was posting consistent losses.
