NAB files reference against ex-district nazim D.I. Khan

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday decided to file a reference against former DI Khan nazim Abdul Rauf and others for misusing authority and embezzling public funds amounting to Rs 33.459 million. The decision was taken in the NAB’s Executive Board meeting held in Islamabad, presided over by its chairman Admiral (r) Fasih Bokhari.
The board authorised three enquires relating to willful loan default cases: one against M/s KNK Foods for Rs 302.963 million, against M/s Saadullah Khan and Brothers for Rs 689.574 million and against M/s Jeea Textile for Rs. 80.156 million.
The board referred the Railways Royal Golf Club case back to the investigation team concerned for further deliberations. In this case the accused were alleged involved in the corruption and misuse of authority in the award of the lease agreement for the golf club, through a non-transparent bidding process which caused a loss amounting to billions of rupees to the exchequer. The board also decided to close the enquiry against the officials of Quetta Revenue Department, as the accused people had given the assessed amount of Rs 1.36 million back to the government.
These officials were accused of illegally allotting of state land in favour of former MPA Shafiq Ahmed Khan (late) at a price lower than market rates.
