Moderates grieved over singer’s death

The demise of Shahenshah-e-ghazal Mehdi Hasan has brought to an end a glorious chapter in the history of ghazal singing in Pakistan and no one can replace him, stated Syed Jawaid Iqbal, Chairman Moderates, a private sector think tank.
He expressed his heartfelt condolence at the demise of Mehdi Hasan and said he was a world class artiste who was truly an icon of ghazal and songs in the subcontinent. His fans in Pakistan and around the world will always remember him for his masterfully rendered ghazals. Jawaid said Mehdi Hasan’s death has deprived the country of a world famous artiste.
He prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased maestro and said that may Allah give fortitude to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.
Moderates, established in 2003, is a private sector Think Tank strengthening tolerance, interfaith harmony and democracy. It encompasses individuals from prominent circles as academia, business, social and political sciences, as well as religious scholars of major schools of thought to promote the axiom: ‘Changing Attitudes – Enhancing Values’.
